Storage

There are 2 main Doghouse file servers. The plan is that when you make a backup of a dvd you own, then you can store it on the relevant server so that it is accessible at any time, even if your own PC is down/off. They are only writable by authorized domain users. If you think others would like to see it sometime, throw it on a server. If it's only something that gives you jollies, don't bother. Groupings are as below:

Filebox

Holds Movies, Documentaries, assorted utils and files, backups of other PCs, music and music vids. Naming convention is that each movie (or whatever) gets it's own folder, in case there's multiple files to the movie (or whatever), eg subs. If the name has a The, such as "The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show", rename to "Rocky and Bullwinkle Show, The" unless the The is a crucial part of the title ( I can't think of an example).

Mailbox

Holds TV Shows. When backing up your dvd of a tv show it can be stored here. There are clearly labeled folder structures already in place , TVLiveAM is live action television, from A to M. Inside that you should find or create a folder such as "Days of Our Lives, The". Inside this, there should be seasonal subfolders (Season 1, Season 2, whatever) and inside these, the relevant episodes, again, named in a standard fashion that allows backtracking if they get misplaced, eg "DOOLS01E03.avi" is easily read as "Days of Our Lives, Season 1, Episode 3." If you want to get retentive, go ahead. Include encoding type and res rate and all that other stuff, but keep it standard across all the episodes of the show.

Cupboards

We have some, so they are worth noting. Stuff gets put in the cupboards. Such stuff can include stuffed toys, sex toys, sex partners, old shoes, and so on. Please try to keep the convention going. If the cupboard is full of hookers, don't store you shoes there. It's the hooker cupboard. Presumably there's another cupboard for shoes (or we just throw them out cos they're less important than a large storage space full of hookers)

Flat surfaces

Any flat surfaces that are not holding objects are considered open territory and are subject to capture under the doghouse rules of engagement.
