General issues with outlook 2003
A program is trying to automatically send e-mail on your behalf
Usually happens when another program is trying to access outlook to send an email through its API.
Solution?
- Download the Possibly Outlook Security Features Administrative Package from the Office XP Resource Kit Downloads page
- Extract to temp folder
- Copy hashctl.dll to c:\windows\system32
- Open a command prompt, run: regsvr32 hashctl.dll
- Copy (and replace) Comdlg32.ocx to c:\windows\system32
- In the command promp, run: regsvr32 comdlg32.ocx
- You will need create a Public folder called Outlook Security Settings - assign admins owner acces, but everyone else read access
- Don't try to open the form from explorer, you have to goto Outlook > Tools > Forms > Choose a Form. Use the Look In drop down and select "User Templates in File System" - Browse to your temp folder where you extracted the files and choose the form.
- You will be prompted to Select Folder select the Outlook Security Settings folder that you created above.
